Abstract:

 

This paper describes a subset of Industry 4.0, namely, Quality 4.0. Industry 4.0, has brought with it many changes to industry and changes that will directly impact root cause analysis. Massive amounts of data are being generated by industry 4.0 and previous quality tools and methods are no longer up to the task of handling such large amounts of data. Old root cause analysis tools and methods can still be used in Quality 4.0, but they must undergo adaptation to remain usable and high-quality professionals will need to update their skills.
