Abstract:
In this paper we focus on the interesting relationship of geometry and music from the perspective of problem-based learning. This teaching has to be designed with the intention of supporting students' self-education. We are looking for a connection between teaching geometry, especially congruent transformations in plane and selected musical works. We also provide specific examples of these works and analysing the occurrence of congruent transformations in them. Subsequently, we created tasks for students from this field. Our interpretations of the findings from student solutions are also presented.
